Morgenstern, Lina (Breslau, Lina Bauerlin)
(1830-1909)
   German writer. She founded a society for the welfare of poor youth at the age of 18. She later moved to Berlin where she continued with her work; subsequently she wrote a textbook concerning kindergartens, and served as president of a society that supported kindergartens. In 1896 she convened the first International Women's Congress in Berlin. She wrote books on varying topics including children's stories and novels.
